About Ivy
Hi, I'm Ivy. I help kids find the way they learn best.
I started tutoring because I kept meeting bright, capable kids who had decided they were bad at school. Almost every time, the problem was not the child. It was the fit between how they think and how the material was being presented.
Today I work one-on-one with elementary students, building individualized learning plans and custom activities around each child's interests. I use AI tools to create games, apps, and printables far faster than I ever could by hand, which lets me tailor every single week to the student in front of me.
What I believe
Four things that shape every session
Curiosity before correctness
A child who is curious will get to correct. A child who is only corrected stops being curious.
Kids are not behind. Plans are.
When something is not working, Ivy changes the activity, not her opinion of the student.
Parents are partners
You know your child best. Ivy keeps you in the loop with plain-language updates, not jargon.
Tools serve teaching
AI makes it possible to build something new every week. The judgment about what to build stays human.

Off the clock
A few things about me
- I will happily talk about dinosaurs, horses, or soccer for as long as a student needs me to.
- I keep a running list of every question a student asks that I cannot answer. We look them up together.
- My favorite moment in tutoring is the pause right before a kid says “oh, wait.”
